I am constantly on a mission to find ways to make my face look better. By 'better' I mean younger, smoother, clearer, brighter, more even, glowing etc etc.
This generally requires a multi pronged attack of skincare products, a bit of diet watch and if I can be arsed, exercise. I would include sleep in this mix as well but currently this is off the table. I also have some other tricks up my sleeve which I have learnt from various skin obsessors along the way.
The first simple tip is using a fresh flannel every time you cleanse. Clearly not revolutionary stuff and this has become fairly standard since the advent of all the hot cloth cleansers. However I never actually did this until last summer when my skin was in cystic acne melt down. I went to Primark and bought a job lot of their flannels which were around 3 for £1 if I remember rightly. So simple but this has made a significant difference to my skin - and unfortunately also to the size of our laundry basket.
My latest adoption for better skin was taken from the IG account Acne_Support. They advise putting a fresh pillow case on every night. This makes COMPLETE sense (although a bit 'Alexander O'Neal' - who reputedly never slept in the same sheets twice). I always get spots on the right side of my chin which is the side that is always face down on my pillow, covered in dribble and a week's worth of grime. I also always use a facial oil so my pillow cases are really hammered (read brown) by the end of the week. Gross.
So as from tonight I'm going to use a clean pillow case every night and see if it makes a difference. I informed my heavily disinterested husband of this and his reply was 'oh great, more domestic admin'. I rather like the phrase although OBVIOUSLY had to reprimand him for his less than enthusiastic stance towards my skincare.
Anyway folks. I think I'm going to adopt this phrase from now on - and any other examples of 'domestic admin' gratefully received! Xx
